Believe it or not, every other desi man and woman follows Bollywood’s Fashion and Style. The latest designer fashion in the sub-continent is greatly influenced by Bollywood. Each hindi film comes up with a new style statement and fashion trends. The youth is the biggest follower of Bollywood Fashion. Bollywood clothing is followed in everyday life styles, and when it comes to the festivals, or wedding occasions the styles of Bollywood are high in demand. HAIR STYLES:

The hairstyles of the actors/actresses are mostly copied by their fans. Haircuts of Madhubala, Meena Kumari, Zeenat Aman and Praveen Bobby were very famous in their eras. When we talk about men then the hair cut of Big.B (Amitabh Bachchan) was a big hit in the 70s, and the long hair of Sanju Baba (Sanjay Dutt) from the movie Khalnayak were traced by many of Sanjay’s fans. The latest followed haircut was Aamir Khan’s Haircut in Ghajini.

GLASSES:

The huge aviators of Kaka (Rajesh Khanna) and the uniquely shaped sunglasses of Manoj Kamor from the movie Dus Numbri will never be forgotten, and are still in fashion after four decades as well. Similarly, the red plastic shades of Bindu and lovely oversized shades of Reena Roy were in high demands.

KAMEEZ SHALWAR/CHUURI DAAR PAJAMAS:

The dresses of Anarkali from the movie Mughal-e-Azam, and the chuuri daars of Rekha are still being followed by young girls because they are ‘in’ once again in Bollywood fashion.

SAREES:

Sarees of Mumtaz,  the blue chiffon saaree worn by Sri Devi in the movie Mr. India, Madhuri Dixit’s Puple blue saree in the song ‘Didi Tera Deewana’ , the Chiffon Sarees of Sri Devi in the movie Chandni, Zardozi work Saree of Aishwariya Rai In Devdas are still In fashion.

SWEATERS:

The bright colored sweaters of are evergreen and are followed by men of all age groups.

JEANS/ TROUSERS:

The white colored skin fitted trousers of Jeetendra, or the bell bottoms of Big B were a massive hit in the 70s. In 1998, Indian boys were influenced by the ‘knee torn’ jeans of Salman Khan from the song ‘Oh Oh Jaanejana’.

CHAINS AND BRACELETS:

In men the trend of chains was brought by Sanju baba in the movie ‘Vastav’, and then again the chains came into fashion in another movie of Sanjay Dutt i.e. Munna Bhai MBBS in which Arshad Warsi wore gold chain on his typical black kurta and blue jeans. Similarly, if we talk about bracelets then, Sallu Bhai is the name. His Turquoise Bracelet has been copied by his fans.

CAPS/HATS:

When we talk aboy Dev Anand Ji, his special iconic checkered caps and hats come into mind. Similarly the Hat of Shahrukh Khan in Devdas was followed for long. No matter how advancements are made in the world of fashion, Bollywood Icons will be kept followed by their fans forever.
